The Gift of Sabbath Rest
In a world that never stops, God built rest into the rhythm of creation. What does that mean for us?
God rested on the seventh day — not because he was tired, but to give his creatures a pattern.
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. — Matthew 11:28 (KJV)
Rest is first a gift to receive in Christ, and then a rhythm to practise. Both are acts of trust: God keeps the world running while we stop.
